Which payment methods can I use?

We accept payments by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Paypal, Apple Pay and Google Pay. We also accept bank transfer, for Trade buyers.

When do I pay for my order?

When you order a piece on Vinterior, we collect payment at the point of sale. Then, we hold the proceeds until the seller confirms a successful delivery or pickup.

If you are using our integrated delivery partner, your shipping costs will be charged to the payment card you used to make the purchase. These charges will be taken once the order is ready to be shipped.

How do you keep payments secure?

We take our buyers and sellers’ security extremely seriously, and do everything to make payments as safe as possible. That’s why we strongly encourage our community to never take transactions off-site. All card payments on Vinterior are processed by Stripe or Paypal, the leading secure online payment gateways. Here’s how they protect your payments.

PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance

Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the highest level of certification currently available. Paypal has similar security guarantees.

Encryption

All card numbers are encrypted on disk with AES-256, with decryption keys stored on separate machines. None of our providers' internal servers and daemons are able to obtain plaintext card numbers; instead, they can just request that cards be sent to a service provider on a static whitelist. For example. Stripe's infrastructure for storing, decrypting, and transmitting card numbers runs in separate hosting infrastructure, and doesn't share any credentials with Stripe's primary services (API, website, etc).
